- Cream the Crisco with the granulated sugar.
- Add the eggs and beat well.
- Add the milk and mix thoroughly.
- Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Divide the batter between two Criscoed layer-cake tins.
- Bake at 375°F for approximately 25 minutes.
- When the layers have partially cooled, place them together with vanilla or chocolate custard between them.
- Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar.
